Kharagpur Junction is a railway station in the Kharagpur subdivision of the West Midnapore district in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Kharagpur Junction was established in 1898-99. On New Year’s Day in 1899, the Kharagpur-Cuttack line of the Bengal Nagpur Railway was inaugurated. On the other hand, on 19 April 1900, with the opening of the bridge over the Rupnarayan River at Kolaghat, Howrah was connected to Kharagpur. In the same year, Kharagpur was connected with Sinari. The Kharagpur-Midnapore branch line, prepared in 1898-99, was opened in 1901.

With a length of 1072.5 meters (3,519 feet), Kharagpur was the third longest railway platform in the world, after Gorakhpur and Kollam Junction in Kerala. The remodeling of Gorakhpur Railway Station was completed, and the new platform was inaugurated on 6 October 2013. Until then, Kharagpur held the recognition of having the world’s longest platform for many years.

Platforms 1 and 3, and 2 and 4 of Kharagpur Junction are adjacent to each other. When the 24-coach Coromandel Express stops at platform 3, its tail extends to an equal distance of platform 1.

Khusrupur Station

Khusrupur Station, station code KOO, is a railway station in the Danapur railway division of East Central Railway. Khusrupur is connected to the metropolitan areas of India via the Delhi-Kolkata main line through the Mughal Sarai-Patna route. Khusrupur is located in the Patna district of Bihar, India. Due to its location on the Howrah-Patna-Mughalsarai main line, many express trains from Howrah and Sealdah to Patna and Barauni stop here.
